Pupil Premium

The Pupil Premium was introduced in April 2011. Schools were allocated additional funding to support children from low-income families who were eligible for free school meals, looked-after children and those from families with parents in the Armed Forces. All schools are required to report on the amount of funding received, how this is being used and the impact of provision.


The Pupil Premium funding allows us to provide additional learning and enrichment opportunities to those pupils who might otherwise miss out.  Through our use of Pupil Premium funding, we aim to offer and improve quality first teaching, intervention and other provision, so that the attainment gap is closed between those pupils for whom Pupil Premium funding is offered and other pupils.

Holy Trinity's Pupil Premium Strategy is reviewed annually. 

Key Objectives to support in removing barriers to learning

Objective 1

  • Raise the attainment and celebrate progress in all core area and the end of each key stage.
  • Continue to support and maintain the improvements in communication and language.
  • To continue to support the improvements in physical development and sensory needs supporting gross and fine motor skills.
  • To continue to support the progress and attainment of early reading through the use of phonics. 


Objective 2

  • Effectively remove barriers to learning through Nurture, curriculum provision, enhanced curriculum opportunities and individual support for both the pupil and their family (where appropriate).
