Holy Trinity follows the child protection procedures as defined by Walsall Safeguarding Partnership (www.wlscb.org.uk) and

multi-agency threshold guidance. We work with partners to ensure the best outcomes for children and young people.

This policy applies to all staff, volunteers and visitors to our school as safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility.

Our belief is that “it could happen here” and “we have the interest of the children” as our priority.

SAFEGUARDING AND PROMOTING THE WELFARE OF CHILDREN

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is everyone’s responsibility. Everyone who comes into contact with children and their families has a role to play. In order to fulfil this responsibility effectively, all professionals should make sure their approach is child-centred. This means that they should consider, at all times, what is in the best interests of the child.

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is defined as:

  • protecting children from maltreatment
  • preventing impairment of children’s health or development
  • ensuring that children grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care
  • taking action to enable all children to have the best outcomes
